7.31.23

Hello everyone! hope you all are domingo fantastic!

I have had quite the week! full of surprises miracles and hard times...

Alright, we found this young family last week! they are epic! it was an interesting day when we found them we started the day with like 4 lessons planned and slowly as the day went on each and every lesson fell through. frustrated and unmotivated we start knocking doors, talking to people in the street, and looking for inactive members, No one answered, we kept going feeling frustrated but looking at the map trying to follow the promptings of the spirit, we went to this street that had an inactive member we knocked their door AND they didn't answer we started knocking the neighbor's doors asking if the new them and one of the neighbors answered the door and said he didn't really know his neighbors but we kept talking with him found out that he has been looking for ways to get closer to God for a long time but hasn't been satisfied with what he had found and wanted to learn more from us. He said "Well I'm busy right now...but you can come back Sunday afternoon," we wrote his phone number and address. When we came back on Sunday he was there! and introduced us to his wife and 2 children we got to know them and had a very powerful discussion about the Restoration! and they loved it! it was such a cool lesson the spirit was strong! and was a really powerful experience!

I really love the verses in D&C 50 that day "Wherefore, I the Lord ask you this question—unto what were ye ordained? To preach my gospel by the Spirit, even the Comforter which was sent forth to teach the truth. Wherefore, he that preacheth and he that receiveth, understand one another, and both are edified and rejoice together." This is our calling, to preach the gospel by the spirit and when we do so we and the people we teach are both edified and rejoice together! it is incredible and I am honored to have experienced it! I know that this is the work of God, it is an important work, and if we do it by the guiding power of the spirit He will guide us where we need to go, and what we need to say. I know that the Lord loves effort and blesses all of our efforts for a good cause! like he did this day that was hard all our lessons fell through but because we kept working and trying even though we did see success for hours on end the Lord did bless our efforts and we found a family that truly needs the gospel! Jesus loves you and will help you in what you truly need! this I know and I share in the sacred name of Jesus Christ amen.

7.17.23

Hello everybody!!! Hope yall are doing just wonderful!

Manuel oren por él

We are teaching this 14 year that is super great! He loves the gospel and going to church with his grandma we are also teaching her but Manuels mom won't let him get baptized, so please pray for him, and his mom!

P day adventures

We have had some great pdays lately We've been meeting up with some other Elders and going on hikes! And to say the least, we have had some crazy adventures(lost in the fog, and thorn bushes)

Cindy

Cindy is an awesome Venezuelan that we've been teaching that finally came to church and loved it! She sat next to a member that explained everything and answered her questions! Cindy really liked it all and is really excited to come back next week with the rest of her family!

Los carabineros

We heard a fight near our apartment the other day and we heard some pretty violent threats, decided to call the police and they didn't answer it just rung and rung, we said a prayer for them and called it a night.

This week I really liked the "come follow me" chapters, especially this verse "And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake."(Acts 6:10) I started thinking during Sunday school as I read that scripture about how powerful it is to teach by the spirit, a definition I've heard of the word resist is the consciously choose not to do or act in a specific situation, and I really think it's so cool that when we strive to follow the holy guidance of the Spirit we can teach by help and comfort in such a way that our friends cannot resist the loving, comforting, helping feelings that the spirit brings us! I know that God loves us and has given us the opportunity to follow the loving council of the holy ghost in our lives, I invite each of you to look for and strive to hear and follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost He is there helping and guiding and it is our choice if we want to follow!

7.10.23

Hello everyone!!! How yall doin'?

Sorry it's been a minute...but the last 2 weeks have been crazy good!

Here is some crazy stuff that's has been happening!!

RIP barrio O'Higgins....Elder Faúndez and I had another great week! We had some really awesome lessons and one of our friends decided to get baptized on Thursday! It was so special! Her husband was baptized about 8 months ago and received the priesthood and was able to baptize his wife! It was such a special day! After her baptism we had a lesson with them and started talked a lot more about temples and how awesome they are! They are super excited to go to the temple to do work for their ancestors and also get sealed together as a eternal family! Lady's and gentlemen it's true families can be forever!!! After that we got some sad news, my comp and I got transfered and our area is no being taken over by other missionaries. It was really hard to leave that area I love all the members and the people we are teaching so much! They are all great and I already miss them...

Anywhoooo

Know I am in the Marga marga ward! It's in a city that is called Quilpué I really like the area it's a lot different then valpo definitely much safer😂 I am just getting to know a lot of the members, they people we are teaching and my companion!! I'm really excited to work in this area! They people are awesome! My comp it awesome and it's gonna be a lot of fun!

I was reading in 1 Nephi the other day and I really liked this verse thar is found in chapter 10:17 "And it came to pass after I, Nephi, having heard all the words of my father, concerning the things which he saw in a vision, and also the things which he spake by the power of the Holy Ghost, which power he received by faith on the Son of God—and the Son of God was the Messiah who should come—I, Nephi, was desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things, by the power of the Holy Ghost, which is the gift of God unto all those who diligently seek him, as well in times of old as in the time that he should manifest himself unto the children of men." I think that Nephi really does show us a great example in this verse he had heard the spiritual things from his father but was desirous to know those things for himself, I feel that in our lives we do the right things for example listen to the words of the modern de prophets read the scriptures, which are good things but I feel that just reading or listening we tend to miss something very important. Nephi wanted to know it for himself! And have it personally connected to him! I challenge each and everyone of you to take it a step further than just reading and listening to the words of the prophete, meditate them think about them work hard to understand them and then find ways to apply them in your lives! A great tool to help you do these things is prayer do as Nephi did and ask for divine help from God, I promise you that He hears your prayers and will give you the divine help that you need! Ask and it shall be given unto you, know and ye shall receive!
