 Hey Mama

I just wanted to let you know I talked to the sweetest lady in a parking lot. We told ourselves we had to talk to one person and this lady walks out. We approached her and started to talking. After a minute she shared that she had been having a hard day and whatnot and she was feeling weird and frustrated from some family things. We shared a scripture with her and she just told us she was so grateful she got to talk to us and they what we are doing helped her put things in perspective. Anyway after she asked to give us a hug. She is a mom of a daughter who is her last and a senior right now and she is just working so hard to figure everything out. She gave me a hug and it was a big hug. One that reminded me of my mom who loves and care about me. And how I haven't gotten a hug like that in a little too long. So I just wanted to let you know I'm sitting her a little teary thinking about how much I miss my mama. And how its been three months already.... I just wanted to tell you that God is looking out for me because of moments in a parking lot with random stranger who felt placed there just for me.

I love you lots. Tell dad I love and miss him lots too.

Have a great week and I'll talk to you next!

You're daughter

What's up slayerrrss ✌️

We had a silly week this week that's for sure.

We got to volunteer at the food bank which is always baller. There was this point when they were giving out pumpkins and mind you these were BIG pumpkins. Anyway, these two teenagers were just looking at this HUGE box, wondering how to get the last few pumpkins out for everyone. And they weren't making any moves so I climbed in and started throwing the pumpkins out. Meanwhile, my compy is inside helping out, and someone comes in and says, “Sister Olsen is in a box.” And walks away, my comp comes out and finds me. We had a good laugh out of it. She was mega confused on where I had gone and why I was fighting for my life trying to lift these pumpkins.

Big miracle from this week, we had a friend come to church! Which is absolute bars. I haven't had a friend come to church yet as a missionary so big deal guys! His name is Lalo and he was a social media referral. We had called him for a lesson during the week and then we invited him to church. We invited him to come a little before so we could do a church tour with him. We were on one side of the church and he came through the other side and our member we had asked to join us found him. We took him around and the church and got to talk a bit about baptism and the Christ in America picture. We then went over to a photo of Christ washing his disciples feet and the member, Brother Groves, started to tear up and the spirit was so strong. We went into the chapel and everyone came and said hi. It was epic. We sang the songs in spanish with him. And he took the sacrament. We asked him how he liked sacrament meeting and he said it was “muy bonita” and he said he's learning and understanding “poco de poco”. It was so cute. We had elders' quorum and so we just left him to go with some members who speak spanish to translate. It was literally like dropping my kid off at school hoping everyone's nice and they don't get bullied. So good though everything went swimmingly. 🙌

I'm realizing there is SO much joy I am feeling out here everyday. Some mornings I am in the trenches. But the moment I get to get out and talk with people and see the beautiful world around me along with the neat people I get to talk to, I feel so much joy. And its so random because truly our job is so random! I've been studying a bit about the gift of the Holy Ghost. It is absolutely amazing what kind of gift it is. Nephi says “ 6 And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do” I love this because he understood he had the gift of the Holy Spirit with him but yet he still was unsure fo how things were going to turn out or what the next step was gonna be. The gift of the holy ghost is simply understanding that God has PROMISED to never leave you. So why would we doubt that he is not directing our paths? He is constantly and to do as Nephi is so Go even though our path is not sure, but trusting that sweet Spirit can be with us. And that is the source of our Joy! That is where the light comes from. It is literally baptism fire! Meaning an opportunity to feel of God's warmth and light everyday. Anyway, I wanted to invite you all to seek and recognize those moments of joy. Be humble enough to recognize God's consistent hand in your life.

“Be thou humble… and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand and give thee answer to thy prayers”

Speaking of not knowing where your headed…
Today for p-day we went for a hike with the 🫨 zone 🫨 very exciting stuff. We decided to do this cool hike to a beautiful lake. It was about 7 miles round trip. They said it might have snowed so to dress warm but we'd be chillin. So we drive and realize it is actually very much snowy but VERY BEAUTIFUL. Anyway we started our hike up and it was going lovely until we realized we weren't gonna make it to the lake. Oh why? Because we walked in the actual opposite direction….. GULP esta bien porque it's not about the destination it's about the friends we made along the way 🫶 it was actually so fun and I loved it. But mega funny considering we ate our lunch we had packed on a random hill in the middle of the woods with no trail in sight.

Anyway I love you all
Our God is a perfect loving God who knows and guides us.

 68 cookies later...

Whats good ✌️

This is gonna be a speed round lock-in

Ok, this week started out lovely with some silly visits with more yappers if anyone has tips on how to get out of an hour-long yap let me know ⬇️. Anyway one of them proceeded to show me their entire gallery of art this old lady her whole life, shes an inactive for a long time. And had an interesting moment where we were talking about God and whatnot, and proceeded to let us know she lost her testimony… interesting use of words it felt as if she “lost” as in didn't know where to find it. A kind of hopeless loss, it made me reflect on how truly blessed I am to have a testimony that I know right where it is and where I can go to find it when it feels a little misplaced (in case you're wondering where you can find your testimony it's through prayer, God's word, and church)

Anywayyyy kinda random. . .

But the rest of the week took us for a little detour because my more compy developed a deathly illness, RIP Hna Gallion. But that meant that I spent all day Thursday reading my scripture, cleaning the entirety of my apartment, listening to so many chapters of the saints, and baking about 68 cookies. No complaints I had a great time, except for the part where we were not able to share the gospel with God's children. You win some, you lose some.

After Thursday shinangings, my comp was feeling good enough to do some work. But there's a catch, she completely lost her voice… and when I say lost, I mean LOST, there was no sound coming out lol, which meant when we knocked on someone's door and they spoke Spanish, I proceeded to almost pee my pants and spit out some crazy words in español. Of course, we were able to talk, or I should say I was able to talk to this super sweet lady; she was so patient and let me fight for my life, and she tried to understand me. She was able to share seek of the religious struggles she has been having and when I was completely lost, my companion whips on a lovely scripture that met her needs. The Holy Ghost is working and we were able to get her phone number and were invited to come back on a different day. She'll be so impressed by my comps Spanish skills after struggling with mine ✌️ hashtag the gift of tongues is real, everyone pray for me

That's been about the most exciting things going on. I'm loving it. Fall is coming

And with that, I want to invite all to go outside, look around, and say 10 things you're grateful for 🍁 I can promise you God will give you joy in whatever circumstance you are in

Love you all

God does more

10.1.25

Hola allll!

This is a kinda random email. BUT I have something very important to tell you

First of all I had my first Zone Conference of my mission, and my mission president, of course, left us with an invitation. The topic of our conference was The Book of Mormon. We were invited at the end to as a mission read the Book of Mormon in 90 days. This seems like kind of a lot, but my mission president, through inspiration, promised us that if we read the Book of Mormon every day, we will never lose our faith in Jesus Christ.

He then invited us to invite our families and friends to join us. If we start reading on this Friday, the 3rd, we can finish by December 31st, it's about 2 chapters a day (you can easily find a list of how to do it online in sure) and to get a new Book of Mormon and make anything that testifies of Christ.

I know this is kind of a hard commitment, but I just want to testify that The Book of Mormon IS another testament of Christ, and truly, we will come closer to Christ by abiding by its precepts than any other book. We are so incredibly blessed to have such a book as this in our day. And God WILL bless us in our efforts.

3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these

Our God is a God of miracles

This book is written for our day

And man is it something special.

If you want to join me, let me know :)

Miss you all
