April 30

 the rest:

Thought I would include a thought from the talk.
Jesus Christ exemplified the power of focusing on His Father, offering gratitude, and acknowledging that solutions to our trials do not always lie within ourselves but with God.”

“…with the Savior, what seems like a major problem can become a pathway to greater spiritual progress.”

“As we strive to place Him at the center of our lives, revelations unfold to us, His profound peace envelops us, and His infinite Atonement brings about our forgiveness and healing. It is in Him that we discover the strength to overcome, the courage to persevere, and the peace that surpasses all understanding. May we strive each day to draw nearer to Him, the source of all that is good, the beacon of hope in our journey back to the presence of our Heavenly Father. In the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.”

I love getting a letter from you. I love just a little more scripture or spiritual thought. I love the pictures.  AND I still love talking to you each week.  You are a great missionary and your ability to stay cheerful and enthusiastic is a gift.

Dad and I just finished in the temple and had a nice time.  Because we are aware that things are different we may get a little distracted with the changes and being aware of what we like or liked better before.  At least that is where I am at.  Change is hard for me.  I really loved the temple before and there is so much that I miss about that experience.  The bathrooms have not changed and I actually enjoyed walking in to that old fashion tile bathroom because it is so familiar and friendly to what I expect.

Today in the session I was trying to piece together the different parts a particular set and how they might be related. It was fun to think about.  I am not always alert and attentive to everything but I do try to get a little new understand or how to relate something so that I feel like I am still learning each time.

Aunt Lauri was on our session too. That was a fun surprise.  We don’t see them very often and she was in a hurry to leave so we did not get to visit. Maybe another time.

Dad and I are doing pickleball league on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  It is a lot of fun (when I don’t lose all the time) and hopefully I am getting better with the extra play with different people.

I am just beginning my personal study for today.  I wander through CFM, my own reading of the Book of Mormon and making my way through the recent conference talks.  Then I sprinkle it all with some great podcasts and hope that I am truly growing in understanding but especially closer to my Savior. Today’s talk is Jesus Christ at the Center of our Lives by Elder Alonso.  If you have any insights, please share.

I love you. I pray for you.  I rejoice in the good things you are doing and I hope you remember that you are loved !

Always and forever,
Mom
